Do you remember the story about the orphaned baby beaver that was saved by a women last year? Here is a rundown, Amanda Clingan, of Shreveport, rescued the beaver from flooded 12-Mile Bayou when he was a month old. She named him Caddo and set out to raise him until he could go to the Alexandria Zoological Park.
One day, she dabbed finger paint on his paws and tail and turned him loose on canvas so she could have a keepsake — and an artist was born. And now one of the rescued beaver’s paintings will be unveiled at the Shreveport Dog Park fundraiser.
Here are the details: A painting done by a beaver named “Caddo” will be one of the items up for bid at the upcoming fund raiser for the regional dog park “Wine and Beer Tasting with a BITE!” on January 14. Caddo paints with his paws, claws and tail; his work is all original and has been compared to that of Monet and Jackson Pollack. All money earned from his paintings goes to charity. Caddo got separated from his family after a flood in Twelve Mile Bayou when he was about a month old. He was rescued by a good citizen that fed him, held him and taught him to paint.
